50 cents increase for FrieslandCampina guaranteed price in May

--

In May, the FrieslandCampina guaranteed price for raw milk will increase by 0.50 euros to 47.25 euros per 100 kilograms compared to last month. This increase is entirely attributable to a positive correction due to an underestimation of the reference prices in the previous period. It is expected that the reference companies will keep their farm milk prices stable for May.

FrieslandCampina guaranteed price

The guaranteed price is the price that the company is guaranteed to pay to member dairy farmers for the raw milk supplied. The guaranteed price corresponds to the average prices for raw milk from a number of dairy companies in Northwestern Europe, including additional payment, named reservation, seasonal surcharges, quantity surcharges, maximum quality surcharges and cooperative surcharges and deductions.

A member dairy farmer receives milk money based on the monthly guaranteed price. The milk money is based on the quantity and protein and fat content of the milk supplied by the dairy farmer. The difference between guaranteed price and milk money arises from the settlement of fixed costs and any surcharges or deductions. In 2024, the fixed costs of regular companies will be 0.19 euros per 100 kilograms of raw milk supplied.
