Producer De Graaf & Cornelissen Entertainment announces the complete cast of the musical revue Josephine B. – A life in review. Lead actress Channah Hewitt is accompanied on stage by eight singing and playing men.

The men who play in the musical are: Yoran de Bont, Yannick Plugers, Leo-Alexander Hewitt, Martijn Vogel, Victor Marinus, Ryk Helle, Matthew De Bruyne and Youri Ouwekerk. They all play an important figure in the life and career of revuester Josephine B.

The performance will be a dazzling, humorous, moving, surprising and dazzling musical revue about the turbulent life of Josephine Baker. Because you don’t just give a real revue star a musical, you give them a revue.

About Josephine B.

Josephine Baker was born in 1906 in the United States. However, in 1937 she obtained French nationality. Josephine is more than just a singer. For example, she joins the French Resistance as a spy and uses her platform in the fight against discrimination. Moreover, she adopts no fewer than twelve children to show the world that religion and house color do not matter to her.

In 1928 the revuester gave performances in the Netherlands for the first time. And she is creating the children’s book together with the Dutch writer Piet Worm The Rainbow Children, inspired by her own adopted offspring. Baker died in 1975, but both her musical and social legacy still survives today.

Josephine B. – a life in review? Then you have to be patient for a while. The musical can only be seen in Dutch theaters from January 2025. The premiere of the show will take place on Sunday, February 16, at the Oude Luxor Theater in Rotterdam.
