Do you like to write meaningful stories in a business context? Are you able to translate a difficult message into understandable and personal communication? And do you enjoy creating beautiful content with the team? Then we have a fun challenge for you!

What are you going to do?
As a communications employee you are versatile: you contribute to the development of internal and external communication tools and know how to optimize content for social media so that we really reach our target group. You are versatile: writing texts at B1 level, making flyers for tenants, a Linked-In post about a new construction project to adjustments on our intranet – you can’t turn your back on it! You are stress-resistant and great at planning and carrying out communication activities and keep track of deadlines for your various activities. At the same time, you are flexible: you are willing to adjust your schedule for that day when a situation requires it. You go out yourself to interview people and write stories. For example, about a good neighbor who is committed to his street. Or about a colleague who contributes in a special way to a better neighborhood.

You will become part of a dynamic team of communications staff and communications advisors. For the first six months you will take over the role of our tenant communications officer. After this period, your focus shifts to real estate communication, where you support the Real Estate communications advisors with major maintenance and demolition/new construction projects. You will also be responsible for both online and offline communications, write messages for social media and offer support to your colleagues in drafting texts at B1 level. You translate the organizational objectives so that your content contributes to Woonin’s image.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Supporting communications advisor(s)
• Contribute to internal and external communication
• Optimizing (social media) content
• Carrying out ad hoc activities

Example of what your day could look like
It’s half past ten, time for the start of the week. Here you discuss with your colleagues what is planned that week and how we can support each other. We share information and help each other where necessary, so that we can function optimally as a team.

After an hour of consultation, you start planning and writing social media messages. This week, the tenants of a new living concept will receive the keys to their new home, a festive moment that we would like to highlight on social media.

You then work with one of the advisors on a communication tool for a real estate or tenant project. They provide the input in the form of text and images, while you convert the text into understandable language at B1 level and turn it into an attractive flyer in Canva or Indesign. After this has been completed, it is time for a well-deserved lunch break in the company canteen with colleagues.

After lunch you will adjust the project page on Woonin.nl and continue completing a short article for our internal magazine, Woonzin. Then you hop on your bike for a photo opportunity and interview with a tenant who means a lot to his/her neighbors. Just a day in the life of a communications employee at Woonin!

What do you get in return?
This position falls in scale G of the Collective Labor Agreement for Residential Services. This scale runs from €3,226 to €4,278 gross per month for full-time employment (36 hours).

We also offer you:

• A fun challenge for 32 or 36 hours a week

About working at Woonin
With more than 35,000 homes, Woonin is the largest housing association in Utrecht, Nieuwegein, Houten and Wijk bij Duurstede. As a social entrepreneur, we work every day to improve living in the city and region.

You will find yourself in a pleasant working environment where you are part of a fresh and close-knit team. In the Communications team we organize spontaneous activities, such as lunches and drinks.

We work hard on the living happiness of the tenants, but we also focus on your happiness at work. Our informal and innovative culture means there is always room for new ideas and initiatives. So with us you are not a number, but attention is paid to your professional and personal development.

So grow together!

What do we expect from you?
You have an enormous passion for communication, both offline and online! You have a fresh view on communication towards colleagues and tenants. And you know how to use new, contemporary means of communication and find creative solutions. In short: you have great ideas and are happy to roll up your sleeves to implement them in practice.

Enjoying your work is extremely important, and you have that when solving daily issues, partly thanks to your practical (out of the box) attitude! It is no problem for you to keep several balls in the air at the same time and to work with deadlines. Project-based work and structuring the (sometimes) hectic and (always) dynamic working days are important skills. You like to work in a team and keep your commitments.

In addition, we ask:

• An HBO diploma in the field of Communication, Media or Journalism
• Experience with social media (both content creation and analysis) and online communication
• An independent working attitude where you work on a project basis, respect deadlines and work in an organized manner
• Experience with writing at B1 level
