Last weekend the PDC continued with the New Zealand tour: the DPNZ tour. The winner of this tour will qualify for the PDC World Championship at the end of this year.
In event 5, the semi-finals provided surprises. Four-time World Cup participant Ben Robb lost 2-6 to John Hurring and the experienced Warren Parry was whitewashed 0-6 by Kayden Milne.
Milne, who already won a DPNZ tournament earlier this year, then surprisingly lost the final to Hurring 4-7.
In the second tournament of the weekend, Ben Robb was already in the last 32 against Deon Toki. Warren Parry lost to Jamie Roberts in the same round.
Roberts then reached the semi-finals, but lost 0-6 to Kayden Milne. In the other semi-final, Jordan Whyte defeated Jaymie Hilton-Jones 6-4. In the final it was again Kayden Milne who had to settle for second prize, it was Jordan Whyte who won 7-5.
Milne is now first in the rankings and therefore in a virtual World Cup spot, although Ben Robb is still close behind him.
