Netflix has announced that subscription prices in Belgium and the Netherlands will be increased immediately. This is the first price increase since 2021. The increases vary between 1 and 3 euros per month, depending on the type of subscription. The basic subscription now costs 9 euros per month, an increase of 1 euro. The standard subscription, which provides access to two screens at the same time, increases by 2 euros to 14 euros per month. For the premium subscription, where you can watch on four screens simultaneously, the price increases from 16 to 19 euros per month. Netflix will soon inform its customers about these adjustments.

This move follows previous price increases from other streaming services such as Amazon Prime and Disney+, which increased their prices to 4.99 and 10.99 euros per month respectively. HBO Max has also announced that it will increase its standard subscription from 7.99 to 9.99 euros and introduce new subscription options.

According to the services, these price increases are necessary to improve their financial results, mainly aimed at increasing margins. Netflix has also indicated that it will stop sharing total subscriber numbers in its quarterly reports, as the company believes these figures only reflect a portion of total growth.
