OUD-VOSSEMEER – Various windmills in Tholen will open their doors on Saturday, May 11, during National Mill Day. Pancakes are being baked again in the De Jager mill in Oud-Vossemeer. It is also possible to view the milling company in the mill.
Molen De Jager is one of the few mills in the region that is still in operation every day. The miller grinds various grains and turns them into baking products for the home baker. As a result, it is normally not always possible to view the mill, but this is possible during National Mill Day. The mill is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the pancakes are baked between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
National Mill Day
The National Mill Day is organized annually by the De Hollandsche Molen Association. Hundreds of windmills are open on May 11 and/or 12. This organization has been committed to preserving windmills in the Netherlands for more than a hundred years. The De Hollandsche Molen website, www.molens.nl, lists which Thoolse mills are open during the Molendagen.
