Are you an original crate-digger or a true vinyl enthusiast? And do you happen to also have a passion for the Dutch language and music with a good dash of groove? There is a good chance that you have heard of the DJ collective Harde Smart. When you think of groovy music from the sixties, seventies, and eighties, you may be more likely to think of records from America or England. But these DJs are masters in unearthing Dutch-language music from this time, which may have become less known due to the language, but are at least as fast. In 2019 they released Hard Smart: Flemish & Dutch Grooves From The 70’s released, an album that was full of… well, you guessed it. Now the gentlemen are back with part 2. In this second compilation, the collective focuses on the era in which both electronic music and dance music were introduced. This compilation features even more experimentation with drum machines, language, and intonation. There are also clearly African-American funk influences present. And all this from Dutch and Flemish soil.
