PSV coach Peter Bosz is not yet experiencing championship jitters, but he has noticed a change in behavior among his players. Bosz thinks his team is “very noisy” in the run-up to the away match against SC Heerenveen. “They look like my children.”

Whether the sixty-year-old Bosz himself has championship jitters? “No, actually not. Crazy, isn’t it?”, Bosz responded at a press moment in the Philips Stadium on Wednesday. “Maybe because we don’t have it in our own hands yet.”

PSV can become champions on Thursday if they beat SC Heerenveen and Feyenoord loses points later that evening against Go Ahead Eagles. Otherwise, PSV can secure the title against Sparta Rotterdam in front of its own audience on May 5.

“I just see it as another match,” Bosz said matter-of-factly. “I’m concentrating on Heerenveen and trying to approach it like any other match. I’ve done that here so far and it has worked.”

Bosz wants to become champion as quickly as possible

Although Bosz himself does not count down the days, he notices that his players experience it differently. “When I look at my group, I find it all very loud. If I have to get the group together, I now have to say it two or three times.”

“They look like my children. You have to repeat it a few times and you prefer not to do that. Then daddy gets angry,” Bosz joked. “No, the latter is nonsense. But you do notice that it takes a little more energy to keep your attention.”

Since PSV is dependent on Feyenoord on Thursday, there is a chance that Bosz and his team will only know whether the title has been won on the bus. That is no problem for the trainer. “I just want to become champion as quickly as possible, so that’s fine.”

The match between Heerenveen and PSV in the Abe Lenstra Stadium starts on Thursday at 6.45 pm. Go Ahead Eagles-Feyenoord starts at 9 p.m.
