The Zeeland Safety Region has set up Grip 2 to ensure that all emergency services on site run smoothly. The fire brigade and five ambulances have been deployed. The city center has been particularly affected, but there is also a lot of damage in the neighborhoods around it. Not all streets have been secured yet.
For example in the Calandweg, where the roof tiles flew around and the roofs of at least four homes were blown off. Simone Vente-van Veldhuyzen lives on the other side of Zierikzee, in the Poortkade, and just stepped into the backyard, glad she had kept it dry.
