A fire raged in a house in Oosterhout, Brabant, after a major explosion. The resident of that terraced house on the Langenhof was seriously injured. She was taken to the burn center in Rotterdam. Due to the damage, the residents of four houses in the area had to spend the night elsewhere.
The explosion happened at the end of the evening. The impact caused the facade of the house to fall into the front garden and the rear was severely damaged. After the explosion, flames shot out of the house and while the fire was being extinguished, a second explosion was heard.
The cause of the explosions is not yet known, but the fire brigade is not expecting an attack. The fire was under control by 1:30 am.
The fire brigade tried to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby houses. Nine homes were evacuated as a precaution. The residents of five houses were able to return after the fire was under control, the rest had to find a place to sleep elsewhere. The mayor of Oosterhout was also present.
