The police have found a body in the building in Berkel en Rodenrijs where a major fire raged on Sunday. The identity of the person is still being investigated, a police spokesperson said.
Two men aged 21 and 28 were arrested on Sunday. It concerns a Rotterdam resident and a man without a permanent place of residence. They are still stuck.
The investigation into the fire and the precise role of the suspects is still ongoing. The police are considering arson and are looking for witnesses.
The major fire broke out mid-afternoon in a shed next to a house on Noordeindseweg. The fire raged in the thatched roof of the building. As a result, a special fire brigade team specialized in extinguishing thatched roofs had to be deployed. The fire released a lot of smoke.
