Wesley Sneijder sees that Feyenoord has made enormous strides this season. The former Ajax player thinks that the 22-year-old midfielder is ready for a move abroad.
During Veronica Offside, Sneijder first shows a moment when Timber cleverly accelerates Feyenoord’s game. “I think he really looked at that and worked with Arne Slot. He has been doing this very well lately. He’s getting better every week.” Jan Boskamp remembers how much time Quinten had from an early age, compared to Jurriën, who now plays for Arsenal. “He was better than his brother at youth level.”

Sneijder thinks that Timber is ready for the next step and even more so than his teammates or PSV players. “If we have to appoint a player from the Eredivisie who I think can cope abroad and who also deserves it, then it is him.” Dick Advocaat and Boskamp add the name of Lutsharel Geertruida. “Because he can play in multiple positions and he (Slot, ed.) has enough midfielders at Liverpool.”
However, the analysts would think it would be too much if both Timber and Geertruida left for Liverpool. If that happens, five Dutchmen will play at the top club from England: Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch complete the quintet. That hasn’t happened yet and Slot has not yet been officially contracted as the new trainer The Reds. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the white smoke will follow sometime this week.
