Femke Bol will be in action at the FBK Games in Hengelo three weeks before the start of the Olympic Games in Paris. It is the last competition in the Netherlands before the Games for the world indoor champion.
“I am very happy that I can run another competition in front of my own audience in Hengelo shortly before the Olympic Games,” says Bol in a press release from the organization. “A match in the Netherlands always gives me extra motivation and energy. Hopefully the stadium is completely full.”
Bol runs the 400 meters at the FBK Games. Last year she won the distance in 50.11 seconds, a track record. At the Games, Bol focuses on the 400 meter hurdles, her great love. Three years ago she won bronze in that event in Tokyo.
Ellen van Langen, who puts together the field of athletes for the FBK Games, is also enthusiastic about Bol’s participation. “We are happy to announce Femke as the big star of the FBK Games 2024,” said the former Olympic champion in the 800 meters.
“Last year she set a fantastic track record in Hengelo. This year she has already shown spectacular things indoors with two world records and two golds at the World Championships in Glasgow. I hope that the FBK Games will be a nice final boost for her this year.” the Olympics.”
The FBK Games will be held on Sunday, July 7. The Olympic Games in Paris start on July 26.
