According to Spanish media, Manchester United has inquired about the possibility of acquiring Real Madrid striker Joselu next summer. The experienced striker, who was allowed to blow out 34 candles yesterday (Wednesday), would be at Old Trafford as an attacking partner or stand-in for Rasmus Rasmus Højlund should function. In addition, Erik ten Hag’s club is linked to two central defenders, including a former PSV player.

Joselu came over on loan from Espanyol last summer, with which he was relegated from LaLiga but where he had an excellent season. The counter is now in the shirt of The Royal to thirteen goals in all competitions, making United according to Relevo has inquired about a possible summer transfer. Real has the option to permanently sign the striker for 1.5 million euros at the end of the summer. That also seems to be his own wish, although his playing time could remain limited due to the expected arrival of Kylian Mbappé and the already announced transfer of Endrick.

The experienced striker is no stranger to English football. In his long career he was under contract with two Premier Leaue clubs. In the summer of 2015, Stoke City picked him up from German side Hannover 96, but he did not make an indelible impression with four goals in 22 league games. Even in the shirt of Newcastle United, where Joselu was under contract for two seasons from 2017, his numbers were not very impressive: six goals in 46 matches.

Bremer and Branthwaite
In addition, United are said to be busy recruiting a new central defender, as Raphaël Varane will enter the final year of his contract next summer and is linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. The Italian Corriere dello Sport reports on Thursday that Erik ten Hag’s club would consider Brazilian international Bremer (Juventus), who has a buyout clause worth 60 million euros in his contract. The DailyTelegraph reports in turn that Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton) is also being closely followed. The 21-year-old defender played on loan at PSV last season and made his debut in the English selection last week, although national coach Gareth Soutghate did not grant him any playing minutes in the practice matches against Brazil (0-1 loss) and Belgium (2-2).
