Mohamed Ihattaren will leave Slavia Prague immediately, the club reports. The former player of Ajax and PSV, among others, signed a one-year contract this winter with the option of three additional years with the Czech club, but the adventure has already ended without having played a minute.

“The club and the Dutch midfielder have jointly agreed to end their collaboration,” the club wrote in a statement. “Among other things, the player expressed his wish to focus on his career within his immediate environment and family, Slavia fully supported him in this choice.”

The 22-year-old midfielder signed a contract with Slavia Prague in December, after a failed adventure with Turkish Samsunspor. In Turkey, Ihattaren was given a grand welcome at the airport, but after imposing unacceptable additional requirements for the contract signing, nothing further came of it.

The former top talent of PSV was already sent away from Juventus and he also left through the back door at Ajax and Sampdoria. Ihattaren played 74 games at PSV, after which the midfielder left for Juventus after a conflict with then coach Roger Schmidt. The club from Turin rented the player to Ajax, but the Moroccan Dutch footballer did not really break through with the Amsterdam team either. After good games in Jong Ajax and his debut for Ajax’s main squad in the TOTO KNVB Cup Final against PSV, his period in the capital lasted only one year.
