Feyenoord has formally terminated the contracts of and, the Rotterdammers report through the official channels. Both players had an expiring contract with the club and have been told that their commitments will not be extended under the current conditions. Clubs must terminate these contracts by April 1, otherwise the player can choose to continue with the club for an additional year under the same conditions.
In practice, termination does not necessarily mean that the collaboration ends. The parties can still negotiate an agreement under new conditions for next season. However, the unilateral option to extend the contract for a year, which Feyenoord had with both Lamprou and Jahanbakhsh, has not been exercised.

Arne Slot already spoke about the situation of thirty-year-old Jahanbakhsh in the run-up to the match against FC Utrecht, which Feyenoord eventually won 4-2. “You can almost draw it out: if we give the option, the choice is clear, but if we don’t, it does not necessarily mean that it is the end of the story, but rather that it gives you time and space to think together. .” The winger has been playing for Feyenoord since the summer of 2021, which took him over from Brighton & Hove Albion for one million euros.
Since his arrival, Jahanbakhsh has not always been a starter, but the winger has nevertheless proven his worth for the club from Rotterdam. In total, the attacker scored 17 goals and 15 assists in 99 matches for Feyenoord. Last season, Jahanbakhsh played an important role in winning the national title with 5 goals and 7 assists in 28 matches.
Feyenoord has also formally terminated the contracts of two youth players. This concerns 22-year-old defender Sem Valk and 20-year-old goalkeeper Jaimy Kroesen. Valk played his only match for the main squad on December 9, 2021: he was allowed to participate for 34 minutes as a substitute in the Conference League match with Maccabi Haifa (2-1 win). Kroesen never played for Feyenoord 1.
