Juventus qualified for the Coppa Italia final on Tuesday at the expense of Lazio. Although they lost 2-1 in Rome, that was enough after the 2-0 win at home.

The difference was initially made by Taty Castellanos. Lazio’s Argentinian striker opened the scoring in the twelfth minute with a header and slotted the ball home again just after halftime.

An extension seemed to be in the making, but Arkadiusz Milik put a stop to it in the final phase. The former Ajax player, who had just come on, shot in from close range with his first ball contact and thrilled everyone at Juventus.

The Coppa Italia is the only chance for a prize for ‘The Old Lady’ this season. Juventus did not play European football and dropped out of Serie A for the national title, which has now been captured by Internazionale.

The Dutch-tinted Atalanta and Fiorentina will compete on Wednesday for the second final ticket of the Coppa Italia. Atalanta must overcome the 1-0 defeat in the first leg at home.

In Serie A, Juventus is number three behind champions Inter and AC Milan. Lazio are seventh and seem to be able to forget a place in the top four and thus Champions League football. A Europa League ticket is still realistic.
