He may not be the only goalie to leave the capital after this season. Geronimo Rulli is also likely to close the door of the Johan Cruijff ArenA behind him.
Pasveer switched from Vitesse to Ajax in 2021 and was initially brought in as a stand-in for Maarten Stekelenburg, who had become the first goalkeeper due to the suspension of André Onana. But Stekelenburg was injured early in that season, giving Pasveer a chance under the bar. He grabbed it with both hands. Pasveer made a strong impression, especially in the Champions League. He continued his good form into the first months of the following season, earning him a place in the World Cup selection of the Dutch national team.

However, Pasveer lost his starting place at the beginning of 2023 to Rulli, who came over from Villarreal. The Argentinian was one of the few bright spots in Amsterdam in the disappointing second half of last season. Rulli was also the first choice at the start of this season, but he injured his shoulder in the first league match against Heracles Almelo and was therefore sidelined for several months. In the meantime, Diant Ramaj seized his opportunity and retained his starting place, but now that he is sidelined with an injury, Rulli still gets the chance to show himself.
And that’s a good thing, because Ajax is willing to cooperate in the Argentinian’s departure. “Another year on the reserve bench is illogical for both parties. What about Van den Boomen, Tahirovc, Akpom and Forbs?
Something may also happen in midfield at Ajax. “Branco van den Boomen and Benjamin Tahirovic have not yet made an impression.
