Ajax coach John van ‘t Schip makes one change to his starting eleven for the home match against Excelsior. In contrast to the match with FC Twente ten days ago, the starting eleven disappears and returns.

Gerónimo Rulli defends the Amsterdam team’s goal against the Kralingers, as expected. For him, Van ‘t Schip opts for a four-man defense, just like in the second half of the match against FC Twente (2-1 win). This consists of Devyne Rensch, Josip Sutalo, Ahmetcan Kaplan and Jorrel Hato.

In midfield, Van ‘t Schip chooses the expected names: Sivert Manssverk, Kennety Taylor and Benjamin Tahirovic. This means that Branco van den Boomen will disappear from the starting eleven compared to the match with the Tukkers. Jordan Henderson returned to the training field this week, but has not yet been deemed fit enough to take a seat on the reserve bench.

Van ‘t Schip has no surprises in store up front. This means that striker Brian Brobbey will, as expected, be supported from the flanks by Mika Godts and Steven Bergwijn.

Ajax line-up: Rulli; Rensch, Sutalo, Kaplan, Hato; Mannsverk, Tahirovic, Taylor; Godts, Brobbey, Bergwijn
