BORA-hansgrohe was unable to get Carlos Ródriguez out of the yellow on the final day of the Tour de Romandie. The German team finished second and third in the Swiss stage race with Aleksandr Vlasov and Florian Lipowitz. Both were satisfied with their performance.

“I am very happy with this result,” said Lipowitz, who surprisingly finished second in the queen stage on Saturday, at the team site. “Before the race I never thought I would be able to compete at the front. I came here with mixed feelings, because I had not raced much yet and came straight from an altitude internship. I didn’t know what my shape would be like. The fact that I was able to race at the front gives me a lot of confidence.”

Vlasov speaks of a good week for BORA-hansgrohe. “It was also a very good performance in the queen stage on Saturday. For me it was a great race and I am happy with my form. Lipo has shown that he is very strong. I wish him good luck in his first Giro d’Italia,” said the 28-year-old rider, who is taking some rest himself. After that he will work towards the Tour de France.
