Feyenoord must keep four compartments closed during the last home game of the season, on May 19 against Excelsior.
The prosecutor imposed this penalty on the club for professional football following the fireworks that supporters set off during the semi-final of the KNVB Cup against FC Groningen.
In addition to keeping boxes X, R, S and T closed, Feyenoord must pay a fine of 15,000 euros. The match against Excelsior in De Kuip is most likely the farewell match of coach Arne Slot, who is about to leave for Liverpool.
“When determining the punishment, the size of the fireworks during the match against FC Groningen, the danger associated with it and the fact that there is recidivism in these areas were taken into account,” said the professional football prosecutor.
Cards blocked
Feyenoord had already been given a suspended sentence following the lighting of fireworks by supporters during the cup match against FC Utrecht at the end of December.
The supporters’ cards in boxes X, R, S and T for the match against Excelsior are blocked. The season ticket holders in question are also not permitted to enter the stadium from any other location.
