Hans van Breukelen will present the championship bowl to PSV this season. The former goalkeeper will probably do this on Sunday, when the Eredivisie leader will only need a draw at home against Sparta Rotterdam for the title.

Van Breukelen celebrated great successes with PSV as a goalkeeper. He won the European Cup I in 1988 and became champion six times with the Eindhoven team. In addition, the 73-time Dutch international spent two periods on the supervisory board of PSV.

“I think it is a great honor to present the bowl,” says 67-year-old Van Breukelen. “I have really enjoyed the good football that Peter Bosz’s team has shown this season. That makes it extra special that I can present the trophy.”

For some time now it has no longer been a question of if, but when PSV will be crowned national champions for the 25th time in club history. The attacking team of coach Bosz leads the Eredivisie by a wide margin.

If things go wrong against Sparta on Sunday, PSV still has two chances to win the title. An away match against Fortuna Sittard and a home match against RKC Waalwijk will follow.

PSV’s championship match against Sparta Rotterdam starts on Sunday at 12.15 pm. The match is led by referee Dennis Higler.
