PSV recently contacted FC Utrecht again to join, it was reported The Telegraph. The news comes not long after FC Utrecht’s confirmation to include the option to purchase in the rental contract of the 21-year-old youth international.

The Eindhoven team also signed up with FC Utrecht in January for the multifunctional Flamingo, who can play as a controlling midfielder, central defender and right back, but a transfer was not possible at the time. PSV sees Flamingo as a player with many growth opportunities towards the top. Moreover, technical director Earnest Stewart has previously stated that the people of Eindhoven want to focus more on Dutch players with such a profile.

Earlier this Friday, FC Utrecht announced that it has exercised the option to purchase Flamingo. According to De Telegraaf, this involves an amount of around 2.5 to 3 million euros. The versatile defender is now fixed in the Cathedral City until mid-2027, but the chance that he will actually play in the shirt of FC Utrecht next season seems very small.

Last season, Flamingo played for Vitesse on a rental basis. The Arnhem team also had an option to purchase and decided to exercise it, but Sassuolo had stipulated a buyback option in the contract. The Italians have also taken advantage of this.
