A day after the European Commission’s decision that Apple’s iPadOS must also comply with the Digital Markets Act, the company announced the news. That decision obliges Apple to open the operating system to alternative app stores. It had to do that before for iOS. IPadOS must be opened for this no later than the end of October 2024.
Epic Games previously announced that it will release a mobile version of the Epic Games Store for Android and iOS. That will happen ‘later this year’. An exact release date for the mobile Epic Games Store has not yet been announced.
