WhatsApp is rolling out a redesigned look of the app to all users, including green buttons and icons. But more changes are coming. WhatsApp also announced today that it is making improvements to dark mode. That mode becomes a shade darker and has a slightly greater contrast. That should make reading messages late at night less tiring for your eyes.
WhatsApp is now also adding a navigation bar at the bottom to the Android app, something that the iOS app has had for some time. You can use the bar to access updates, Communities and calls more quickly.
WhatsApp also has news for iPhone users, as the iOS version makes it easier to send photos and videos with the improved layout of the new attachment feature. Instead of a full-screen menu, you’ll see an expandable drawer of options.
Icons
In addition to the green color, the icons in WhatsApp will now also have a more rounded, outlined style. Furthermore, the default background in chat conversations has been updated. The rollout of the changes will be phased, so not all users will see them at this time.
