Johan Derksen and René van der Gijp are definitely not going to take the behavioral course against inappropriate behavior – which is mandatory for people who work at RTL, Talpa and the NPO. They repeated that again last night Today Inside.

“I don’t want to be bothered by young people who come up with this or demand this with silly exams,” Derksen said yesterday in the talk show.

Mandatory course against inappropriate behavior

Lawyer Job Knoester regularly sits at the table Today Insidegentlemen and indicated that he has already completed the training. Then Derksen indicated that it is all just “nonsense” and “bullshit”. He also said he hadn’t heard anything about it. “I’m not going to do this kind of nonsense at 75. There’s nothing about that in my contract, so I just don’t do that.”

A day later, yesterday, Derksen had not changed his mind. “If the management is smart now, they will forget to send me that thing,” he said. “Because if it becomes a prestige issue, it doesn’t help anyone. But of course I don’t want to take part in that craziness.” That statement earned Derksen quite a bit of applause from the audience. According to presenter Wilfred Genee, Derksen mainly received praise from “old white men”.

René van der Gijp also does not plan to take the course: “I have been engaging in transgressive behavior for forty years and I do not intend to stop doing so in the last five years,” he said, laughing.

Talpa, true Today Inside falls under, announced yesterday that all colleagues must follow the course, “regardless of contract form and position”. “It is important to us that everyone within our network goes through this training, and we are actively committed to promoting this,” the spokesperson said. “We do this, among other things, by actively helping to remind, monitor and engage in conversation.” Derksen says he has not yet received the invitation. Political reporter Merel Ek stated in the broadcast on Tuesday that the training must be completed before April 12.
