The analysts of Today Inside do not think much of the options currently being nominated as successors to John van ‘t Schip at Ajax. The current coach of the Amsterdam team will not be associated with the club in the same role next season, so Ajax will have to look for a new coach.

Valentijn Driessen thinks that the club from the capital faces a difficult choice. “They would like a Dutchman, but the supply is thin. Pascal Jansen is free. Finally, he is of course not going to Ajax, because then his life is not secure in the Netherlands and neither is his family. Frank de Boer could, but he thinks that they will not end up with him.” De Boer was previously successful in Amsterdam, where he became national champion four times.

Other names that are less known to the general public or only have experience as assistants are also discussed. “Then a number of lightweights are mentioned. You cannot make those Lijnders from Liverpool (who works there as an assistant, ed.) head coach.” Johan Derksen is very touching with the journalist The Telegraph at sometime. “Laughable.”

Finally, the name of the current coach of Jong Ajax is mentioned by Driessen. “Then you have Dave Vos.” Derksen had to look up who that was. “I didn’t even know that Fox yet. That’s a cyclist, right?” With Jong Ajax, Vos is currently in fifteenth place in the Kitchen Champion Division. The 40-year-old trainer has been at the helm of the promising team since February 2023.
