Almaci: “No external investigation is a culpable omission”

Meyrem Almaci (Green) disagrees with Minister Dalle, who does not see the need for an external investigation.
“To protect the VRT, you cannot proceed with the order of the day. If we receive an email in the middle of this committee, then you must determine that something is wrong, and thoroughly. If you then say that they will investigate it internally have to solve, then you are making a serious error of judgment. This must be mediated externally. To bring peace, an investigation is needed so that people can regain their trust. If there is no trust in the top management, then it will not happen, regardless whatever initiatives it takes.”

Dalle responded angrily to Almaci’s comments. “‘You are also making a serious error of judgment?’ With all due respect, I work very hard on the issue of transgressive behavior. I will not accept this,” Dalle said.

Almaci stuck to her position. “If we as politicians say that the VRT should only tackle it internally, then we are guilty of negligence. Without an external investigation, this will not be resolved. The email is an illustration that things are going too far. You cannot switch to the order of the day. An investigation is needed here, mediation is needed here.”

The committee is over.
