The garments were found about 150 meters from where his skull and teeth were found. This concerns a T-shirt, shoes and underpants – which were spread over several meters. However, no “other bones were recovered,” said Jean-Luc Blachon, the prosecutor in Aix-en-Provence.

“Small fractures and cracks” were found on the skull itself. “These are bite marks, probably caused by one or more animals.” However, the cause of death is not yet known. “Anything is possible,” said Blachon, who announced that the investigation would continue tomorrow.

In brief:

On Sunday, the Aix-en-Provence public prosecutor’s office reported that human remains have been found and that DNA tests show that they are the bones of the Missing 2 year old Emile go. The French toddler was last seen on July 8 last year. He had just arrived for the summer holidays at his grandparents’ holiday home in Haut-Vernet, a hamlet of 25 inhabitants located at an altitude of 1,200 meters.

However, the discovery of his child’s skull calls for the time being raises even more questions than it answers. The wooded area in Le Vernet – where a hiker discovered the bones on Saturday – had already been combed several times. It is possible that the boy’s remains ended up at the site later, perhaps by heavy rainfall, predators or a person.
