The Storm have shot out to a 32-4 lead over the Rabbitohs… but have lost star winger Xavier Coates to a hamstring injury in a cruel twist.

Coates bagged a first-half hat-trick — all set up by superstar No.6 Cameron Munster — but a minute after scoring his last try left the field with a hamstring injury.

The Rabbitohs were up and about early in the game as Cody Walker set up Jacob Gagai in the corner, but that’s the only joy they’ve had.

All of the Storm’s spine players have delivered and are “cutting Souths to shreds,” according to Fox League commentator Dan Ginnane.

Jahrome Hughes linked up with Ryan Papenhuyzen for the first try of the game, while Harry Grant crossed on the stroke of half time.

“This is a first half annihilation,” Ginnane said.
