MG3 Hybrid+ has its price: From 20,985 euros

--

2024 marks the centenary of the British brand MG. Whiners will chant that the current MG is as British as refined food, but that should not spoil the fun for the brand that is currently in Chinese hands. The more affluent customers celebrate with the Cyberster, while the working class gets this MG3 Hybrid+.

Less money, for more equipment

Because working people are looking for economical cars more than ever. One annoying disadvantage: hybrid versions often cost quite a bit more, which makes the attractiveness disappear somewhat. Take the Toyota Yaris Hybrid for example. It has a base price of 26,690 euros. Then go shopping at Renault for the hybrid Clio? You will also spend at least 22,400 euros there.

MG is now here to undercut its rivals – pretty much the British/Chinese brand’s modus operandi. Just look at the prices:

• MG3 Hybrid+ Standard: €20,985
• MG3 Hyrid+ Comfort: €22,485
• MG3 Hybrid+ Luxury: €24,985
– Metallic color: +€650

You can get the MG3 Hybrid+ in Standard version for 20,295 euros. Then your compact hatchback is immediately equipped with a reversing camera, Android Auto/Apple Carplay, DAB+ and MG Pilot with a host of safety features. One step higher is the Comfort version for 22,485 euros. Then you get 16-inch rims, 6 speakers and air conditioning in the rear. Top version Luxury costs 24,985 euros and offers LED headlights, a 360° camera, heated seats, tinted rear windows and an extensive MG Pilot with extra gadgets. In short: for the price of a bare Clio or Yaris with hybrid power, you have an MG3 Hybrid+ with tasty options. You can pay an additional 650 euros for the metal color alone.

Powerhouse

Then there is the engine. MG approaches things slightly differently than the competition. The brand is convinced that a hybrid does not have to be soporific. The 1.5-liter four-cylinder in the front, together with the compact electric motor, generates 195 hp and 425 Nm of torque. This not only ensures a noticeably faster acceleration time to 100 of 8 seconds, thanks to the 1.83 kWh battery it should also be possible to drive longer distances purely electrically.

Anyone who fears that the hybrid will therefore overshoot its target: on paper it is satisfied with a consumption of 4.4 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 100 g/km. These are also values that are perfectly in line with the competition. Read more about the MG3 Hybrid+ HERE. Also note that MG will soon offer a version without a hybrid engine. Which means you will actually have a direct rival for the Dacia Sandero.
