The group of decorated people was so large this year that the presentation of the Royal Awards took place in Theater De Dialoog. Mayor Hans van Daalen was allowed to pin on no fewer than 11 royal ribbons; 9 times Member of the Order of Orange-Nassau and 2 times Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau.

Impressed
Like every year, they were lured to the town hall with an excuse. “That turned out very well,” the mayor laughed. “Some noticed something, but others only half an hour in advance.” After the decorated people were received with loud applause by family and other fans, the mayor praised them for the special way and for the long time in which they have selflessly committed themselves to society. “These efforts are very diverse and cover different areas.” For some, the list of activities was so long that the mayor could imagine that the decorated persons themselves were impressed by it.

Spontaneous applause for Rommelschuurtje
The audience almost clapped their hands with enthusiasm. The couple Henk (77) and Riet Kuyt (76) received spontaneous and loud applause. Their junk shed in the hamlet of Leuvenum on the Jhr. The. CJ Sandbergweg 78 raised no less than 55,000 euros for the Willem Holtrop Hospice in Ermelo.

Beatrice Jongkind
Beatrice Jongkind (66) could not be present for her presentation of the decorations for Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau. She lives abroad. Yesterday the mayor informed her of the happy event by telephone.
