This last Friday before the May holidays it was time again for the annual sports day for children throughout the Netherlands. The event aims to encourage children to pursue a healthy lifestyle. The sports day has been organized every year in April since 2013, on the last Friday before King’s Day. This also applies to Hengevelde and Bentelo.

Teacher Sanne Assink from the Petrusschool:
“We had a great sports day today in Hengevelde. This morning groups 5/6 started with the athletics components and groups 7/8 with the games. In the afternoon they switched parts.
During the lunch break, a few children from groups 5/6 were allowed to compete against Bentelo during the relay race. Hengevelde has won!”
At the end of the day, Bentelo (group 7/8) won the tug of war!
The tires can be inflated, today is King’s Day and Bistro de Kolenbrander is organizing another bike ride!
The necessary information will be posted on our social media in the run-up to King’s Day, but this day can already be put in the agenda!

Everything is back as usual
It will be another day with games, leave at the Kolenbrander just like last year. There is another beautifully decorated central post.
Cycling routes
There are three routes, two short ones for groups with children who want to play games around 20 km, clockwise and anti-clockwise.
And there is a long route of approximately 40 km and it also passes the central post.
Inflatable castles at the central post and after time at ‘t Kooltje!
Little by little, the weather promises to improve and André has mapped out the routes for this Saturday’s cycling tour on King’s Day… So, pump up your tires and let’s have a fun day!
