Samsung has started testing the phones in the Galaxy S24 series with Android 15. The major upgrade will also soon bring One UI version 7 to the devices.

Samsung tests Galaxy S24 with Android 15

With the recent rollout of Android 14 to the Galaxy Xcover 5, Samsung has completely completed its most recent major Android upgrade. Anyone who follows Google’s activities also knows that Android 15 has already appeared on the horizon. And although this next Android version won’t come to a large number of Samsung phones until the fall, the first tests behind the scenes are already taking place.

Android 15 is currently still in the beta phase, but Samsung is already working on the new software for the European versions of the Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra. Although you cannot draw any firm conclusions from this, we can say that this is relatively early in the year. Usually the first test firmwares only appear a few weeks later – at the end of May, beginning of June.

When will you get Android 15 on your Galaxy?

However, we do not expect Android 15 to come to Samsung phones particularly early this year. The road to the final release is long, also because Samsung itself has to test a lot of extra features and functions with its own One UI interface. Moreover, the road does not pass by an extensive beta phase of the South Koreans themselves. This will come to the Galaxy S24 series later this year. The firmwares that are currently being tested do not yet indicate preparations for a One UI 7 beta.

Last year, the Android 14 beta for the Galaxy S23 started in August. The final rollout started at the end of October. Most phones were then updated over the course of November and December.

And for the record: as far as we know, Android 15 and One UI 7 will at least come to all Galaxy S models since 2021, so to the Galaxy S21 to the Galaxy S24. All Galaxy Z phones from the Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 are also eligible. This will be the last Android update for the Galaxy S21 series – except for the Galaxy S21 FE. It was launched later, and will also be eligible for Android 16 next year.

Of course, many phones in the Galaxy A series will also receive the upgrade. Think of the Galaxy A53, A54 and Galaxy A55, and the Galaxy A33, A34 and A35. But the Galaxy A14 and A15, and the A23 and A25 are also planned.

We will soon put together a comprehensive overview of all Samsung phone and tablet models that are eligible for the next major upgrade.
