Heracles Almelo has been nominated with the Heracles Foundation for the Football Gives Prize with the ‘Electric Wheelchair Football’ project. In addition to the Heracles Foundation, 9 other projects have been nominated for a chance to win the main prize of €50,000. You can vote on the 10 projects until Heracles Almelo’s birthday, May 3, 2024. Will you help the Heracles Foundation with an ultimate birthday gift? If the Heracles Foundation wins a prize, this will fully benefit the Electric Wheelchair Football project.

Supporters can vote for his or her favorite social project until May 3, 2024 via eredivisie.nl/footballgevenprijs. The top three are then still in the race for the main prize. The winner will be announced during the Eredivisie Awards on Monday, September 2, 2024.
Goal Electric Wheelchair Football
The goal is to make Electric Wheelchair Football possible in the Twente region, specifically in Almelo. Anyone who dreams of becoming a footballer, but is confined to a wheelchair or has a walking disability, can register.
To practice this sport, several electric wheelchairs are required. These specific wheelchairs have been greatly developed over the years. They are equipped with different speed and maneuverability settings so that various situations can be accurately assessed. There is a bumper at the front that makes it possible to dribble, pass or score with the ball!
One such specific electric wheelchair has a value of approximately €12,000. The goal is to create at least 8 chairs that can therefore always be used by this target group and so that training and matches can be played on a structural basis.
About Football Gives
The Football Gives Prize is an initiative of the VriendenLoterij, in collaboration with the Eredivisie CV and ESPN. With the ‘Football Gives Prize 2023’, Premier League clubs are encouraged to realize new, impactful social projects. From all entries, the best three project plans will be jointly selected by both a jury and the public, which will be rewarded with project financing of 50,000 euros, 30,000 euros or 20,000 euros from the Friends Lottery.
