DJI’s new drone was officially launched today. The DJI Mini 4K offers quite a lot for its size and price. And this drone is nice and compact, making it easy to take with you when traveling.
The new DJI drone was leaked last week, but now the DJI Mini 4K has actually been released. As the name suggests: it is small. That is also the biggest advantage. With a weight of less than 249 grams, the drone belongs to the ‘hand-sized’ category. And you don’t need a pilot’s license for it. With its light weight and small size, the drone is also handy to take with you in your suitcase when traveling.

In addition, you can expect a battery life of 31 minutes, with a maximum range of about 10 kilometers. The videos you then make are of 4K quality at 30 frames per second and 100 Mb/s. A disadvantage is that the device has no obstacle detection or… true vertical offers recordings. As a result, you will have to develop some piloting skills to get the thing flying in the perfect line.
The Mini 4K is the successor to the DJI Mini 2 SE, but the new drone has a better image processing chip. As you can see in the photo below, the two drones look very similar.
How much does the DJI Mini 4K cost?
For the time being, the drone can only be purchased via Amazon for 299 euros. Of course, you get the drone itself, a controller and a battery.
If you think half an hour of flying is too short, you can also opt for the ‘Fly More Combo’ for an extra 140 euros, which extends your flight time to 93 minutes. If you still don’t think that’s a good deal, you can still consider purchasing the DJI Mini 4 Pro, but you will have to pay between 700 and 800 euros.
