Under the contract, worth over GBP 1 million (approximately EUR 1.17 million), James Fisher’s renewables team will securely manage the high-voltage network and electrical safety throughout the construction and commissioning phases of the onshore substation and wind turbines, spanning about ten months.

Working under a tailored set of safety rules and procedures, James Fisher Renewables will ensure the safe energization of Zhong Neng’s HV network and a seamless transition for operations in the region, said the UK company.

The 298 MW Zhong Neng offshore wind farm is being built some 13 kilometers off Changhua County on the west coast of Taiwan by a joint venture between Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and China Steel Corporation (CSC).

The offshore construction on the project started in March 2023 with the installation of pin piles for the jacket foundations.

Last month, CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE) completed the installation of the jacket foundations and the accompanying pin piles.

The Zhong Neng offshore wind farm will comprise 31 Vestas V174-9.6 MW turbines, all of which are scheduled to be in operation in 2024.
