(ABM FN-Dow Jones) American consumer confidence in the economy continued to deteriorate in April for the third month in a row. This was evident from figures from The Conference Board on Tuesday.
The consumer confidence index fell to 97.0 in April from a revised 103.1 in March. Previously, an index level of 104.7 was reported for March.
The sub-index for economic expectations for the next six months fell to 66.4 from 74.0 in March.
The sub-index for the current situation deteriorated from 146.8 in March to 142.9 in April.
