Adrian Newey and Red Bull announced yesterday that the two will part ways. Last week this was the best kept secret since the invention of the wheel. It was also a topic of discussion among the gentlemen of Today Inside. Sports marketer Chris Woerts joined in and made some painful blunders, which the men of VI had a good laugh about.

Chris Woerts predicts that Verstappen will leave the Red Bull team in the foreseeable future. He calls Newey’s departure a major loss. In his argument, host Wilfred Genee breaks in: “Who has the Formula 1 rights again?” Genee alludes here to the statements Woerts made in recent months. He was convinced that Ziggo Sport would regain control of the Formula 1 rights, but these rights would remain with Viaplay. This already got a lot of laughs, but it got even worse.

“Mercedes has made an offer, but now that Newey is very close to a switch to Ferrari, they expect Max to also go in the long term,” says Woerts. René van der Gijp breaks in: “But that’s where Hamilton is already going.” Woerts looks at Gijp in surprise and asks ‘is that so?’ After this, realization sets in and the entire studio bursts into laughter.
