The province of South Holland is offering a prize for the best affordable housing project for social rental, mid-range rental or affordable owner-occupied homes. The Affordable Housing
The prize is intended to highlight municipalities, corporations and builders if their projects contribute to an affordable housing stock.

Deputy Anne Koning: “In the most densely populated province of the Netherlands it is still possible to build affordably. And that is desperately needed, because more and more people are getting stuck in the housing market. With the Affordable Housing Award we show how we can realize affordable housing and share experiences.”

It is now possible to register projects. Projects that qualify for the prize were completed after January 1, 2022 and consist of at least two-thirds affordable housing. Projects must include at least 25 homes.

These can be projects for new construction, transformation or flexible housing. A jury of independent experts assesses the entries on elements such as affordability and the living enjoyment of residents. They receive bonus points for the amount of social rent, sustainability, quality of life, design and the efforts the team has made.

Deputy Anne Koning will present the prize during the South Holland Housing Conference 2024 on September 5, 2024. Registration is possible until June 9, 2024.
