Only on the third day of the 2024 Giro d’Italia do the sprinters seem to get their first chance. Today the peloton heads south towards Fossana in a stage of 166 kilometers. Can Olav Kooij, who fell yesterday, strike with his very first chance in a grand tour?

From Biella, at the foot of Oropa, the teams and riders travel by bus to Novara, the start of stage three, by an hour’s bus ride. From here a relatively flat ride of 166 kilometers begins. A total of 831 meters of elevation are conquered. With many top sprinters such as Olav Kooij, Tim Merlier, Fabio Jakobsen and Jonathan Milan at the start, there is a good chance that we will see the first bunch sprint of the Tour of Italy today.

Monday May 6, Stage 3: Novara – Fossano (166 km)
Start: 1:10 p.m
Finish: between 5:05 PM and 5:20 PM

What time are the important passages?

Intermediate sprint Cherasco: between 4:30 PM and 4:55 PM
