The 25-year-old woman who ended up under a riot police bus in Eindhoven on Monday evening after the PSV ceremony is still in hospital. She is responsive and was injured in her upper body. She may leave the hospital later Tuesday or Wednesday, the police said Tuesday morning.

The accident happened on Monday evening around half past eleven on the Vestdijk in the center of the city. According to the police, the woman was crossing the road on foot when the riot van hit her. The victim ended up under the bus and was rushed to hospital. The road was closed to all traffic some time after the accident.

Passing traffic jam
The police say that the riot police bus was driving along a traffic jam when things went wrong. At that time, the exodus of supporters from the city was underway after the PSV celebration.

A team specialized in traffic accidents carried out investigations. It is not about a team from Eindhoven. In the event of accidents involving the police, a different police team always investigates. Exactly which team was called in has not been released.

It is not yet clear how the driver did not see the woman. Specialists from another police unit will investigate what exactly happened.

A total of ten arrests were made on Monday on the day of the ceremony, the police also announced on Tuesday.
