REGION – At least three cars collided on the A16 towards Rotterdam on Tuesday afternoon. That happened around 1:30 PM at the Terbregseplein intersection. Three lanes were closed. The delays from Ridderkerk in the direction of Rotterdam increased quickly.
One of the cars had ended up upside down. Emergency services responded en masse because one person became trapped in the car.
Traffic had to take extra travel time into account. At around 2:55 PM it was more than 90 minutes. The road was cleared again around 3:30 p.m.
Tunnel closed
At the same time, the tunnel under the Noord also had to be closed. Around half past three this caused more than 4 kilometers of traffic jam on the A15 in the direction of Gorinchem. By 2:50 PM the problem was resolved.
