The Ultimatum: South Africa (Friday 10/05, Netflix) South African version of earlier reality series in which a number of couples have to decide: get married or call it quits. They put their love for each other to the test by switching partners with someone else.

Cooking Up Murder: Uncovering the Story of César Román (Friday 10/05, Netflix) Spanish documentary series about a chef accused of murder. The man built a prominent career for himself through a web of secrets and false identities.

Living with Leopards (Friday 10/05, Netflix) British documentary film about a film crew who managed to film the lives of two leopard cubs up close in nature: they followed the two animals on their ups and downs path to adulthood.

El Correo (Friday 10/05, Netflix) Spanish crime film in which a modest employee seizes the opportunity to participate in money laundering. He then finds himself in a world of fast money and fast cars, but an eventual crash seems all but inevitable.

Past Lies (Friday 10/05, Disney+) Spanish drama series about a group of women who all lead stable and successful lives, but see that change when the remains of a former classmate who disappeared twenty-five years earlier during a trip turns up.

Rocco & Sjuul (Saturday 11/05, Netflix) Comic drama film from 2023 in which Sjuul (Beppie Melissen from Hair salon Romy) her childhood sweetheart Rocco (Sabri Saad El Hamus from Cyprus Boy) bumps into again. Their blossoming relationship provokes resistance within their environment.

Mark Twain Prize Award: Kevin Hart (Saturday 11/05, Netflix) In the night from Saturday to Sunday, Kevin Hart will be awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Netflix will broadcast the ceremony live, which also features comedians such as Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld.

Doctor Who S14 (Saturday 11/05, Disney+) British science fiction series about a Time Lord who can travel through time and space using a TARDIS (a type of telephone box). The Time Lord is now played by Ncuti Gatwa, best known for the series Sex Education.

Mercy (Sunday 12/05, Netflix) 2023 action film in the style of Die Hard, about a doctor (Leah Gibson) with a military background who takes action when the hospital where she works is taken over by Irish gangsters. Also with Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

The Equalizer S03 (Monday 13/05, Star Channel) Crime drama based on the 1980s series, now starring Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall, a former CIA agent who tries to help people in trouble on her own. Watch the trailer.

Adagio (Monday 13/05, Netflix) Italian crime film from 2023 about the son of a former criminal who becomes entangled in a web of blackmail and corrupt officers. He decides to seek help from his father’s old friends, who risk everything for him.

Nikki Glaser: Someday You’ll Die (Monday 5/13, HBO Max) HBO special by Nikki Glaser, who is known for the Comedy Central Roasts and also the recent Roast of Tom Brady on Netflix. In addition to sex jokes, she also talks about her own mortality.

Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal (Wednesday 5/15, Netflix) Documentary about the rise and fall of the controversial dating site Ashley Madison: the website for people looking for an affair was hacked in 2015. Watch the trailer.

Sonic the Hedgehog (Wednesday 5/15, Netflix) Video game film from 2020 in which the lightning-fast blue hedgehog Sonic befriends a sheriff (James Marsden) on our Earth and has to stay out of the hands of his great arch-enemy Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey).

Vanderpump Rules (Wednesday 5/15, Netflix) Reality show that serves as a spin-off from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and revolves around the adventures of Lisa Vanderpump. She runs a restaurant in West Hollywood where the staff causes a lot of drama.

The Godfather of Oss (Wednesday 15/05, Videoland) Documentary about a long-term infiltration operation at a notorious criminal from Brabant: Martien R. and his family were involved in drug trafficking, arms trafficking and money laundering for years. Watch the trailer.

Uncle Samsik (Wednesday 15/05, Disney+) Historical drama series set in South Korea during the 1960s. Kim-San returns to his home country after studying economics in America and Uncle Samsik promises to help him realize his dreams.

Bridgerton S03 (Thursday 5/16, Netflix) Costume drama from producer Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy) in which Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) shares his friendship with Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan from Derry Girls) tries to recover. Watch the trailer.

Maestro in Blue S02 (Thursday 16/05, Netflix) Romantic mystery series from Greece in which a musician travels to the island of Paxos, where he meets a young woman who also has musical ambitions and becomes involved in the troubles of the local people.

Monster (Thursday 16/05, Netflix) Thriller film from Indonesia in which two young people are kidnapped and then locked up by someone in an abandoned house. The woman manages to escape and then returns to the house to help her friend.

Jaws (Thursday 16/05, Netflix) Steven Spielberg’s classic film from the 1970s, in which the seaside town of Amity is ravaged by a huge shark. Three men (Richard Dreyfuss, Roy Scheider and Robert Shaw) are assigned to stop the beast.

Orphan Black: Echoes (Thursday 16/05, NPO 3) In continuation to Orphan Black, in which an artificial woman (Krysten Ritter) with a mysterious past lives in the shelter of the countryside, but then starts looking for information about her identity. Read the review.

Catch Me a Killer (Thursday 16/05, BBC First) Crime series based on true facts about psychologist and profiler Micki Pistorius (Charlotte Hope), who hunted several South African serial killers during the 1990s. Watch the trailer.

Outer Range S02 (Thursday 5/16, Amazon Prime Video) Supernatural family drama with Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men) in the lead. In the series he plays a rancher who finds a mysterious black hole on his land and goes to investigate.
