Maasland 10.05.2024 update – The A20 between Coldenhove in Maasdijk and Maassluis was closed to traffic for some time on Thursday evening and Friday night, May 10, after a serious accident.
According to eyewitnesses, at least four girls were driving a white passenger car, but near Lely the lady behind the wheel lost control of the vehicle. First she rammed the guardrail in the central reservation and then dived into the guardrail at the emergency lane.
Several occupants were (seriously) injured, five ambulances and a rapid responder arrived on the scene for the victims. As more ambulances were needed, Rijkswaterstaat completely closed the A20 towards Rotterdam. Two injured people were transported urgently and two without emergency to a hospital in Rotterdam. There were a total of six people in the car. The police investigated the accident. The wreckage was removed with the police recovery vehicle.
