The Polish man is said to have caused nuisance at the Breda Barst festival and was removed from the site. The man resisted, so security tried to keep him under control until the police arrived, the police said. Officers saw that the man was no longer breathing and began resuscitating him.

“He was then transported to the hospital in a serious condition,” said a spokesperson. “He died there.”

Because it is not clear how the man became unwell, a total of six security guards are suspected of being involved in the man’s death. “Four of them, between the ages of 19 and 59 and coming from Roosendaal, Breda, Dongen and Tilburg, were arrested shortly after the incident.”

Those four are no longer in custody, but remain suspect. Two other security guards are later questioned as suspects.

The investigation into the cause of death will ultimately determine what the security guards are suspected of, a spokesperson said. Witness statements have also been recorded and camera images are being examined. It is also being investigated what nuisance the Polish man has caused.
