It remains a difficult question, even for famous Flemish people. Is it time for a comeback from De Pauw, or not? Herman sees no problem with that. “Bart De Pauw has been in prison professionally for seven years, so it is about time that he is allowed out of prison. How many more times does he indeed have to go through the dust? After his statements, some people immediately respond ‘he doesn’t mean that’, but how do they know that? For the same money, does he mean that? Maybe he has regrets, shame, he has thought carefully for seven years and he thinks okay, I want to get back to doing what I can do very well – making TV – and I will now leave the women alone?”

There has been a lot of commotion in recent days surrounding VRT’s decision to postpone the documentary ‘The process that nobody wanted’, as they were considering adapting some passages at the request of Bart De Pauw. In the meantime, after major protests from the cultural sector, it was decided that the broadcast will continue without any adjustments. De Pauw himself also responded to the incident. He admits that he asked VRT CEO Frederik Delaplace to delete certain things from the documentary before broadcast. “I want to be clear. I was wrong,” he wrote on social media. But also: “When is enough enough?”
