Since Laura was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, Jette and Johnny have had an emotional storyline to play out in Meerdijk. Given their age, it is of course not inconceivable that they will leave the soap village in the not too distant future. GTSTfans feared that this might be the case after the pile-up in the summer cliffhanger of 2023, but the soap veterans are still making an appearance in Meerdijk. For how long, however, the question is becoming increasingly apparent.
Henk has had quite a few worries since Laura’s health has deteriorated. Viewers recently saw how he appeared to be in pain on his balcony. This week really goes wrong for Henk when he walks dog Dolly. He collapses and clutches his chest. Are the scriptwriters anticipating Henk’s departure and will that be the promised tearjerker in the coming summer cliffhanger?
Jette recently indicated the Telegraph to know that she is not yet thinking about quitting. “Everything passes eventually, I know that, but as far as I’m concerned, that may take a while.” The actress recently flew to Curaçao with a few cast members for recordings. It is not yet clear whether this is the setting for the upcoming summer cliffhanger.
