Milou Anthonissen made an excellent start to her outdoor season at the dressage competition of the Honteruiters in Kloosterzande with the chestnut gelding Mackenzie. The rider from Biervliet sent the seven-year-old Oldenburger Hennessy son, who made his debut in the L2 class, to victory twice in a row. Her scores were 66.83 and 63.50 percent.

“What a great horse to ride,” Anthonisse said afterwards. “Mackenzie is a horse that has everything a good dressage horse needs. It is a horse that every dressage rider dreams of. It was a dream that came true for me when breeder and owner Frans Haak from our village asked me if I wanted to ride him. He came to my stable five months ago. I started with him quietly and started in L at the beginning of this year. All tests are getting better and better. Today was our first outdoor competition and the debut in the L2. We immediately scored nice points.”

Denise Klap was also doing well with the mare Stal PD’s Enjolien. The rider from Serooskerke guided the fifteen-year-old Jazz daughter to victory twice in the Z2 class with scores of 64.71 and 69.41 percent. “I am very happy with this. Enjolien showed again today what she has to offer,” said Klap. “More than two years ago she came to our stable as a broodmare. Then she was pregnant. And after she had a foal, I started competing with her. That turned out well.”

“I am satisfied, this was only our third competition in the Z2 class and we have already added three winning points,” Klap continued. “We really seem ready for the next step. But that will have to wait a while. Enjolien is expecting another foal .”
