Joost Klein through to the final: “There is no bigger party than with the Netherlands during this Eurovision Song Contest”

Our broadcast on Thursday evening will be entirely dedicated to the Eurovision Song Contest! How will Joost Klein fare in the second semi-final? Immediately after the result the review in Op1 with Henkjan Smits, Carolina Dijkhuizen, Rob Jetten, Sipke Jan Bousema, Barrie Stevens and April Darby.

Joost Klein has advanced to the final! The first reactions at the Op1 table are very enthusiastic. Sipke Jan Bousema: “Delicious! I got goosebumps. It started fantastic. You thought: what is happening here? He kept it small, but very good and varied. Lots of things are happening. There is no greater celebration than with the Netherlands during this Eurovision Song Contest.”

Rob Jetten: “He was really enjoying himself. He has loved the Eurovision Song Contest from an early age. Then he wrote a very beautiful song, with that message from his parents. With that personal thing at the end. But above all it was a very big party. The room went completely crazy. Everyone sang along.”

Henkjan Smits: “That room made it. At some point he simply stopped singing. It was quite a party.”

April Darby: “The song is of course also suitable for that. He literally asks for a reaction from the audience in his song. Then of course everyone goes completely crazy. In that sense it is perfectly put together. I have the feeling that it is very alive when you see the audience. No one went as wild as Joost Klein.”

Impressive marketing campaign

Joost Klein’s rise started a year ago on TikTok and he now has almost 30 million likes. Experts are impressed with its marketing campaign. “But no matter how good your marketing is, you have to show it there on that stage,” says Carolina Dijkhuizen. ”And that’s what makes him so good. Apart from how brilliant he is in marketing himself, he is also a really good performer.”
